 White Paper

Electronic Portfolios White Paper, Version 1.0, released at EDUCAUSE 2003
The Electronic Portfolios White Paper is the result of a collaborative effort organized by the ePortConsortium, which brought together representatives from university and commercial electronic portfolio projects to provide a discussion of electronic portfolio opportunities and challenges. Authors (See Collaborators below) teamed to prepare the first comprehensive manuscript on the evolving conceptual and technical aspects of eportfolio systems.

We have only just begun to understand the true potential of eportfolios as conceptual thinking is realized within a software environment called an electronic portfolios management system.  The members and friends of ePortConsortium are committed to continuing their work to prepare the next version of this white paper by including more authors, and they accordingly extend this invitation to conceptual and technical thinkers as well as experts in the fields of teaching and learning to send in their comments.  With broader perspectives and greater knowledge provided by additional contributors, the next version of this white paper will render an even more definitive assessment of the status and future of eportfolios.

Please stay in touch with this working community by visiting the ePortConsortium.org site often.  For specific questions regarding your potential contribution to or collaboration with this working group, please contact Ali Jafari (e-mail jafari@iupui.edu or phone 317.286.2880).   Other comments should be directed to ePortConsortium Coordinator Catherine Kaufman.
